About Melinda
Southern Oregon Sport Horse and Jackelope Valley Ranch are owned by Melinda Golis.
Her qualifications are a BS in Biology and over 30 years of experience in equine operations. For over 25 years Melinda has been a licensed Animal Health Technition having over 20 years experience managing a prestigious equine hospital and small animal emergency clinics in southern California. She has over 20 years experience bringing injured horses back into the work, returning dressage and eventing horses to the competition arena and race horses to the track. Case studies are availiable, as are referrals from former and current clients.
Melinda has trained and competed combined training and 3-day event horses to the preliminary level, in addition to seven years as an eventing technical delegate for the American Horse Show Association, now USEA.
Today she emphasizes dressage. She has earned Bronze and Silver medals from the United States Dressage Federation on horses she trained herself - and the Gold medal training is in progress. She has had her "L" judging license with the USDF and when possible continues in the judges program.

For years Melinda has competed her black Dutch Warmblood stallion, Tasco. A successful grand prix jumper, Tasco advanced to FEI level dressage under Melinda's tutelage. We lost Tasco at 30 years young - healthy, strong and sound, teaching to the end.
At SOS Horse we have many lovely young horses, both by Tasco and other impeccable stallions, both from Europe and the USA. Most are now in work and ready to compete. Other stallions represented on the farm are Donnerhall, Weydan, Winterprinz, Chrysos, Windwalzer and Leonides.
